Day 2

After breakfast, we will board our luxury coach and make our way to Parke’s Castle where you will take a cruise on Lough Gill. You will sail around the Isle of Innisfree, which inspired W.B. Yeats to write Ireland’s most popular poem. You will have a little time to explore the Castle and then return to Sligo for free time at your leisure. Dinner will be served in the hotel in the evening.

Day 3

This morning after breakfast we will depart the hotel and travel to Lissadell House. Lissadell is famous as the childhood home of Constance Markievicz, her sister Eva Gore-Booth and her brother Josslyn Gore-Booth. In more recent years Lissadell was bought by husband & wife Edward Walsh and Constance Cassidy. After 70 years of neglect an intensive programme of restoration – without any public funding – has taken place in the House, Gardens, Stable Block and grounds since 2004 and Lissadell is once again a place of beauty. This is a must see when visiting Sligo.

After our visit to Lissadell we will take a scenic drive around the Wild Atlantic Way to Mullaghmore, passing by Streedagh Point and Mullaghmore. Mullaghmore is a picturesque seaside resort. It has a charming 19th century harbour in the centre of the village and it is a delight to watch the fishing boats come as you sit and relax over a drink or cup of coffee

Day 4

Today after breakfast we will again board our luxury coach and take a scenic drive our to Glencar waterfalls. Here you will be given time to explore the beautiful Glencar lake and waterfall and maybe grab a cup of coffee in the newly built café.

From here we will visit Atlantic Sheep dogs. Here you will see some of the smartest sheepdogs working in their natural environment. This demonstration by owner Martin Feeney shows you how the dogs are used to move sheep around the farm and explains how the dogs are trained and the different breeds of sheep Martin has on his farm. We will then make our way back to our hotel making a stop at WB Yeats Grave in Drumcliffe. This will be an opportunity to have a home baked scones in the local coffee shop and browse around the art work displayed in the store.

Day 5

Day of leisure and time to enjoy the pool and leisure facilities your hotel has to offer

Day 6

This being our final day after breakfast we will check out of the hotel and start our journey home. We will enjoy a leisure stop with time for lunch en-route.  After lunch we will continue our journey and have comfort breaks as required.
